The Audience is the Star Not the Entertainer

Entertaining can be very rewarding, but it can also feel like a huge responsibility. When anyone takes the stage in front of thousands of fans, there’s a job to do and a lot at stake.

Entertaining is as much as an art form as the music one plays. It takes many years to learn that when a true entertainer takes the stage, that the concert is not about the entertainer, it’s about the people in the audience. The entertainer is not the star, the audience is the star.

For example, for many years I used to take the stage and the first thing I did was to start blasting away and showing off my quick hands at the piano trying to impress the crowds, my fellow musicians, and myself. And it worked, to a certain degree. I have a thick press kit of critics comparing me to the legends but the problem was that it didn’t translate at all into good CD sales. In fact is, the better I got, the slower my sales.

What was happening? I was playing for my own pleasure expecting audiences to dive into that realm with me. Some did, but others became alienated because they just didn’t have the musical knowledge to go there with me. Also, I was playing from ego and not from the heart.

Many performers seek validation outside of themselves by showing off and many don’t even care what the audience thinks. But, the truth is, most should care what the audience thinks and what the critics think. Because, bigger audiences and more press equals more gigs and more money.

However, seeking the approval of colleagues, media, critics, and fans can be self-absorbing and self destructive if you’re not careful. You should care what the audience thinks but at the same time be conscious of not trying not to impress them..

Personally, I’ve only been star-struck twice in my life. The first time was when I was a teenager and I saw Oscar Peterson perform in Toronto. I said to myself, “hey, I want to do that” and began to pursue my dream to become a jazz pianist. And, not just any jazz pianist, a highly trained and technical pianist like Oscar. It took some time but eventually the critics started to compare me to Oscar, and others would compare me to Bill Evans, or Keith Jarrett. But, my CD sales were still slow and my bank account was very small.

The second time I got star-struck happened in Montreal when I attended a seminar by famous author and speaker T.Harv. Eker. I couldn’t believe it but, he kept over 2,000 people on the edge of their seats for 3 entire days just by talking. He was extremely skilled at enrolling and engaging audiences.

And that’s when my mind shifted. That day, I laid out a lot money and signed up for one of T. Harv Eker’s courses. The result? That training changed my whole approach to concert performances and my life.

While I had always possessed a natural ability to entertain, I learned that I didn’t really understand how highly choreographed and entertaining were supposed to be. Certainly I understood that lighting, good production and communication with your audience from time to time was a good thing. But, I learned that just by using a proven template for winning presentations I could up the ante quite a bit.

The difference in my career was dramatic. I changed almost overnight from self-absorbed and trained technical performer to an entertainer. And, the best part is my sales increased exponentially. And, I didn’t have to give up jazz to become an entertainer. I just had to learn how to package it.

So, what’s important to anyone wanting to make a mark in entertainment? First, learn the psychology of human behavior then learn how to lead an audience. Then, find and study a proven template for winning presentations. That will help you to overcome any limitations you may have. Entertaining is an art form that can be mastered if you get the right information from the right master entertainer.

Psychics Are More Than Just Fortune Tellers in Today’s Complex Society

Psychics in today’s society are having to deal with more complex clients than they ever have in the history of the art of psychic reading. They are having to deal with multiple problems such as: divorce, money issues, business concerns, love affairs and more. If you take a look at the average psychic, they are having to help people from all walks of life. However, why are so many people turning to the psychic hotline for help and not to their doctors?

As a fellow psychic, I can tell you that my clients range from professional doctors to real estate investors. I have never done a psychic reading for a low income client for pay. Psychics usually keep rates of $1.00-$5.00 per minute. It is shocking that there are people in the world today that are willing to pay this much money for a psychic reading. I realized that people need answers and they are willing to pay money for it if they have to.

I am a real psychic and you will find thousands of people like me in the world today. We are dealing with complex issues and our clients trust in us to bring them some good answers. Psychics are known to be highly intuitive and often correct about there predictions. If you have ever had a good psychic reading, you will see why so many people want to have a psychic reading over and over again.

Several clients have told me that I am better than a doctor because I am caring, loving and well spoken. I can even see into the future and into their past. I believe that they are correct. However, I also know that I am not a medical doctor or even a licensed therapist. However, people are telling me that I satisfy them more than their counselor does or psychiatrist. I believe that doctors are loosing their genuine care for patients and that’s why people are turning more to the psychic hotline than anything else.

I was recently in a hospital because I was having stomach cramps. I felt as though the doctors did not care about me. I felt like they were just doing their job and hoping that I was alright so that they could send me on my way. I did not get a warm feeling from them at all. I felt as though they did not care.
The next day I decided to have a psychic reading because the doctor said that my stomach problems may be do to stress or my diet.

The next day I found a psychic at Lily Dale Assemblies in Lily Dale New York. The psychic was able to soothe me spiritually and she gave me accurate details concerning my life. I was happy that I was able to receive some answers that day. It is something that my medical doctor could not give to me. My medical doctor said that my stomach problems were probably do to stress or something developing that he could not see yet. I had a better experience at the psychic’s office than in the hospital.

Shockingly my clients have had similar experiences. One client that I shall call Shelly told me that she had seen a psychiatrist for years and a psychologist. Neither one of them was able to help her because she felt as though she was just another client. Just someone giving them money every week. She felt as though they just wanted her to come in and leave when her time was up. Shelly said that her experience with licensed psychiatrists and psychologists were not good.

It is obvious to me that Shelly is not alone. There are literally thousands of people in the world today that feel the way that she does. These people can also pay a psychic $1.00-$5.00 per minute to talk to them.
Psychics must be doing something right if they are drawing the rich and successful to them. In my opinion, doctors need to be a lot more caring to their patients if they are looking to compete with psychics.

I always tell my clients that I am not a licensed counselor or doctor, but they still tell me that I have a caring heart and that I am a good psychic. That is why I have repeat business as a psychic. Most psychics that I have met genuinely care about their clients and people in general. Psychics have a bad reputation for scamming people and for being dishonest. People that say this should look at the heart of a real psychic and see that they do psychic readings because they care about people so much.

The fact of the matter is that psychics today have to deal with a lot more than just a ten minute tarot card reading. People are looking for answers to their complex issues. They are asking questions about their broken marriage, business failures or start ups, terminal illnesses like cancer and other questions. The clients always want to know what the psychic sees.

The days are long gone when you could just walk into a psychics office and pay $5.00 for a psychic reading. Now you can expect to pay between $20.00-$300.00 for a decent psychic reading. As the times move on, we are going to see a lot more psychics charging big bucks for readings because most psychics have very busy schedules. The psychic industry is growing at an enourmous rate and that says that more and more people would rather spend their money on fortune tellers than on professional doctors.
